Entertaining goes a long way in boosting morale of troops and lifting their
spirits. My name is Corey Sibley of Clarksville, TN. I got out of the
military about a year ago after spending over 10 years serving my country
in the area of logistics. In addition to serving my country I have also
served my God, ultimately. Where ever I was deployed to regardless of
war-torn countries or peace-time situations, I tried to spread the gospel
through song in some type of way. While stationed in Honduras, Central
America, where isolation and dryness was a norm, I had the opportunity to
implement my very own gospel radio show that was a part of the regular
AFN (Armed Forces Network) broadcasting that was titled, “Gospel in the Morning, with Corey”. On an FM dial that reached throughout the small country of Honduras, spreading gospel music to all. This spanned for a term of 6 months. I later landed a position as a radio personality on a local Nashville station; 88.1FM WFSK on Sunday mornings. This was mainly driven by my radio mentor, Gwen Dingle. My show was called “Contemp Mode” bringing all the contemporary gospel music to Nashville and surrounding areas. All of this was done while I was in the military, if I was not deployed somewhere. In 2003 I had to deploy to Iraq for a year and that whole experience really taught me about how important life is and how fragile we are. Upon returning back I had 4 less soldiers and friends to return with me, and I am living with that every single day. 2005, I put together a month of first class programs for the community of Fort Campbell Army Base during their Black History month activities. Every weekend during the entire month
was filled with excitement, such as fashion shows, CeCe Winans & Friends concert, dinner theater shows, college choir competitions and the list goes on (so much so that it is still the talk of today)! In addition to helping out the community with different events, I have also taken on the role of managing my beautiful and talented wife, Kristie L. Sibley, who has established a small independent music label entitle, K Love Music & Publishing. Kristie is well on her way to becoming one of the industries most sought after psalmists. She is currently working with Roger Ryan on her sophomore cd project in which we pray will land a major distribution deal. While we were stationed in Germany, Kristie had the
opportunity to minister at churches and throughout Europe, and even when we returned back stateside, she was called upon to come back over in 2003 and do a European tour débuting her first cd project, “Perfect Peace”, www.cdbaby.com/kristie.
